Dr Malcolm Robert GOLIN

golin (2)
ArmsVairy en pointe Gules and Sable the Sable ermined Argent.
CrestA Border Terrier statant Argent gorged with a wreath of water-cress proper resting its dexter forepaw on a Torteau charged with two cramp-irons in saltire Argent.

The arms were designed by Dr Golin who wanted a simple shield and was taken by the colourful possibilities of vair en pointe. The crest incorporates biographical details: the family pet is gorged with water cress taken from the arms of his own town of Rickmansworth and alluding to the fact that Dr Golin is Medical Adviser to the present Council, while the torteaux and cramp irons are taken from the arms of the Russian family of Golynsky to which he may be distantly connected.
